Our
horses often have hooves that are much too dry and therefore crumble or split.
This is not surprising as in the field the hooves absorb 80% water. We always
want the horse to have a dry stable, and wearing shoes is also not very good for
the moistness balance. In other countries horses are often kept in 'wet'
stables, where the sand in their box is moistened. Hovlera creates a good
moisture balance in the hooves. It is simple to apply and has fast results. For
horses with chronically bad hooves it is recommended to use this clay very
regularly. If your horse has brittle hooves that easily split, you could ask the farrier to cool down the shoes before nailing them.

The next day the clay can easily be removed with
a hoof-pick.
