Eclipse Biofarmab was

established in 1983, by its

present owners, under the name

Eclipse products. From the

start the focus was on carefully

developed and tested products of

the highest quality. At an early

stage vets and pharmacological

experts were consulted to reach

the rigorous standards desired.

Maj-lis Jeppson is a joint owner of

Biofarmab. She works with exports and

sales. Maj-lis has worked with horses

for more than 35 years, and has seven

horses at home on the farm

Genuine horse experience

The founders have had a long

relationship, and genuine

experience, with different

disciplines un the equine

sports.  The bulk of today's

14 employees have long-term

experience with horses.

A slogan, which has followed the

compagny through the years is:

"Made by horsemen for horses"

Lars Jeppson is a joint owner of  the

compagny and has the reposibility of

the product develpment. He has 45

Years of horse experience in different

diciplines. Lars also works as a

physioterapist of the Swedish Single

Hospital in Helsingborg.

A name synonymous with quality

The name Eclipse demands

a more detailed explanation.

In Great Britain in 1764 a

thoroughbred was born who

descended from the Darley

Arabian's line. He was born

during an eclipse of the sun, and

was thus named Eclipse

Eclipse grew up to become

one of the greatest racehorses ever.

He started 27 times and withdrew from the turf underfeated!. As a breeder he

became a formidable success

and one of the greatest formers

in thoroughbred lineage. Almost

90% of all thoroughbreds can be

traced back to Eclipse.

Hambletonian is a direct

descendant of Eclipse, which

means that all American trotters

are descendants of Eclipse.

In many countries the Eclipse

Stakes are ridden every year to

honour one of the greatest horses

ever raced.

It was appropriate that a name synonymouns with quality be

chosen for the newly established

company, Eclipse, in 1983.

Paul Lindberg, finance manager,

with Susie mansson. Paul is one of

the joint owners and has previous

experience in trotting amoung other things

The manufacture of the clay is

situated in the old diary in Hishult,

which was purchased in 1986.

Clay paved the way

Superflog  (now replaced by

Bioflog) and Swede Clay were

the ticket into the Swedisch

equine sports for the compagny.

Both preparations are extracted

according to the horse tradition.

that has made Sweden one of the

leading trotting countries of the

world

Since the manufacturing of the

clay started in 1983 thousands

of tons of it have left the com-

pany for further transportation

to horsemen around the world

In the beginning the Clay were

used solely within the trotting

and horse racing arena, where

there is a long tradition of using

cooling and heating caly's to sup-

port the racehorse's legs.

Active people amoung the differ-

ent disciplines discouvered quite

quickly how effective the clays

were. Today the products are

found in most riding stables as

well as trotting and horse racing

stables.

Kerstin Ask and Eva Johansson

work with the clay manufacturing.

Every batch contains about 500 kg

of clay.

Retailers important

Eclipse's products have, right

from the beginning, been exclu-

sively sold by distributors. This

factor has contributed to the

expansion of the compagny, as it

has guaranteed the end consum-

ers accessibility to the products.

In 1983 there were three retail

distributors who sold the

products, today there are about

400 distriutors in Sweden

Helen Nilsson, martine Nilsson, Janet

Hansson and Sofie Hjalmarsson all

work in the store. All of them

are active in equine sports

International Introduction

In 1986 the dairy in Hishult,

southern Sweden, was purchased.

The old dairy turned out

to be an excellent manufacturing

and package centre for clay and

other equine products

The same year the compagny attended the SPOGA-fair in Cologne. This was the catalyst for the sale of products to several countries. Today the products

are exported to more than 20

countries and exports account for

about 40% of turnover.

In 1997 Eclipse Biofarmab was

approved as a supplier to the

Hong Kong Jockey Club. Further

recognition of the high quality of

its products.

In 1987 the compagny changed

name to Eclipse Biofarmab.

In 1998 cooperation with Foran

Equine products, Ireland's lead-

ing manufacturer of feed additives and horse care products began

This cooperation has been

strengthened during the years

and has contributed to Eclipse

Biofarmab's leading position as

a distributor and manufacturer

of horse care products and feed

additives.

During 1988 the first sachet

packaged product was introduced, Rehalyt Electrolytes and vitamins for competition horses. This product has developed into a best seller during the past few years.

Biosynov is a sensitive product,

which demands special procedures

during manufacturing. thomas

Linderoth is reponsible of the

manufacturing of feed additives.

Thomas has worked in the compagny

since 1995

Biosynov was introduced in 1991 and has ever since been one of Biofarmab's largest selling products

Sachet packaging is an excellent

way to store sensitive feed additives

in the demanding environment of

the stable

Lisa-Marie Dahlström is reponsible for the packaging of powder products. She has, during many years worked within trotting

Continuous expansion

In 1993 another factory was purchased in Hishult. The majority

of the business is situated in the new building-manufacturing

and packaging of feed additives,

warehousing and administration

The old building is udes solely

for the manufacturing of topical

products, i.e. clays and liniments.

The big news of 1997 was the

introduction of the energy additive

Hitargo. Hitargo is manufactured by Carbamyl and is distributed

by Biofarmab. Biofarmab "big" products during the 21st century have been the glucoseamine product Bioglucomine (2000) and the dietary feed additive Fiberplex (2002).

Today Eclipse Biofarmab is

marketing about 100 different

products, manufactured either

by the compagny itself or by

other well-know manufacturers.

Eclipse Biofarmab is focused on

maintaining its position as the

leading Scandinavian supplier

of feed sdditives and horse care

products.

Christel Andersson works in the office.

She is a former riding instructor.

Mats Alexandersson is reponsible of production planning.
